Cultivars and characterLongtan trades on the name Longquan Piaoxiang, pushing new technique and laying out visitor gardens. Around Daxi and Fuxing the hills hold thick morning fog, the temperature is even and the soil rich — fragrant tea, sweet and round. Lufeng Oolong was named and promoted in 1996 by then-president Lee Teng-hui, with graded packaging introduced to lift quality. Shoushan comes off the hill slopes, Xiucai is named after where it grows, and Jinhu comes from the Huangnitang and Jinjihu terraces.
